Photos and videos from the recent powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake that struck Panama on Friday, October 9, 2026, capture scenes of panic and severe material damage to buildings and infrastructure. The tremor had a focal depth of approximately 10–12.5 kilometers, with its epicenter located off the country's southern coast, and it was felt as far as Panama City, Colombia, and Ecuador.
In the chart, the transiting Pluto of the day is exactly on
the natal Saturn in the 9th house (which signifies the provinces). The
earthquake occurred at the exact moment when Pluto, moving retrograde, hit
Saturn with precision (unbelievable, right?!), while at the same time
transiting Mars was forming an opposition.
Meanwhile, Jupiter, the ruler of the 8th house, is located in the 4th house. If
we look at the chart from a Solar perspective, the 4th house falls in Aquarius
(ruled by Saturn and Uranus).
Sidereal chart
At the same time, transiting Neptune forms a square to natal Mars in the 8th
house, exactly on top of the sidereal Moon/Mercury opposition. Note that in the
sidereal chart, the Moon rules the 4th house.
Earthquake
Transiting Venus and Mercury are on the natal Sun, with
transiting Mars forming a square. Due to their retrograde motion, they will
eventually meet transiting Pluto and natal Saturn again, followed by Mercury
later on...
