Part 2: Retrograde and New Venus in Scorpio / Libra - October 2026

Following up on our previous article regarding the New Venus on October 24th (read), today we move on to a more detailed approach to this significant astrological phase.

Let us not forget that Venus, as a personal planet, holds immense influence: she rules two signs, is exalted in Pisces, and is considered the planet that "gives birth" and brings abundance (the lesser benefic).

In our natal chart, she represents finances, our social life, and partnerships, while showing the way we love and receive love. Consequently, when she forms difficult aspects or is in fall and detriment, particular caution is required.

In the current phase, Venus is retrograde and in conjunction – Cazimi – with the Sun in Scorpio and in detriment—a sign of intense passion, jealousy, and possessiveness, but at the same time deeply business-oriented, saying: "all or nothing."

As we will see on the chart, the situation becomes complicated, as Venus forms a highly demanding square aspect with Pluto, who is also her dispositor.

What we need to look out for: Relationships based on self-interest, possessiveness, or the fear of loneliness will be thoroughly sifted through.

This New Venus has a unique peculiarity: she is born at 0° Scorpio, but because she is retrograde, the very next day she returns to Libra. She begins from the deep, dark waters of Scorpio, where she asks us to look and search deeply to find the truth, our hidden desires, and repressed feelings, and returns to Libra to help us rediscover balance, justice, and harmony with others.

In the astrological chart of the phenomenon, the Ascendant is in Libra. This means that the entire cycle opening up focuses with double intensity on the two main areas of our lives: personal relationships (marriages, partners) and professional partnerships, as well as our finances (as the natural significator of money).

Whatever we were hiding under the rug just to keep everyone happy is now coming to the surface. It is a period that will judge which people deserve to stay by our side and which partnerships need to be radically re-evaluated.

The harsh square she forms with Pluto

The most dangerous and challenging point of this New Venus is the harsh square she forms with Pluto, which will be repeated. This energy requires immense caution from all of us, as it can bring to the surface:

• Intense passions (Venus/Scorpio) and power games (Pluto): In romantic matters, we may experience extreme jealousy, manipulative behaviors, even emotional or psychological abuse. Relationships built on control rather than love will go through a very severe crisis.
• Great financial risk: As Venus is the natural significator of money, the square with Pluto sounds the alarm for our finances. This is not a time for risks, reckless investments, or major expansions. If we are not careful, this phenomenon can lead to serious financial losses or even "bankruptcies"—whether material or emotional.

Depending on where this affects each person in their natal chart, this October demands a clear mind, strategy, and above all, not allowing fear or passion (Scorpio/Pluto) to drive our decisions.

When we speak of the New Venus, we must not forget that she is always in an exact conjunction with the Sun - Cazimi. Therefore, when the Sun and Venus unite at 0° Scorpio and make the square to Pluto together, the energy takes on even more explosive dimensions.

The Sun represents the Ego, vital energy, leaders, and authority. When it meets Venus in Scorpio, the need for control and dominance becomes intense. The square with Pluto no longer affects only emotions (Venus), but strikes directly at the very existence and dignity of the individual (Sun).

People who feel they are losing control in their relationships or partnerships may become extremely aggressive or vindictive. It requires immense caution and absolutely no risks.

Pluto is the planet of the underworld, death, and absolute power. The Sun-Pluto square brings raw, total violence (psychological, verbal, or even physical) to the surface. Figures of authority or partners with manipulative tendencies will try to impose themselves in the harshest way.

In relationships and partnerships (due to the Ascendant in Libra), the presence of the Sun shows that egos (Sun) clash (square) to the death (Pluto). There is no disposition for compromise (Venus/Scorpio).

Finances
As Venus is directly connected to money (2nd house) and Pluto (8th house) to the wealth of others, investments, debts, but also radical upheavals, this discordant meeting demands immense caution in our finances. The retrograde course of Venus combined with Pluto can bring hidden debts to the surface (both are retrograde), financial losses, or the need (Venus) for a radical (Pluto) restructuring of our management.

Since Scorpio is a preeminently business-oriented sign associated with joint resources and investments, this period is not suitable for risks, impulsive purchases, or financial agreements based on behind-the-scenes dealings. Balances (Venus) are delicate, and the mistakes and excesses (square) of this period can cost dearly (Pluto).
